Two on the Song Xanh

Late in the day the Song Xanh goes glassy and still, and the only thing breaking the surface is the slow pull of a single boat. Two locals worked together, at a steady pace, their wake fanning out behind them in long silver lines. I held the frame wide to let the river breathe, two small shapes against all that water and light. I called it Two on the Song Xanh for the quiet companionship of it: two people, on one boat, and a river in no rush to get anywhere, only being in the present.
