This piece is designed to be unsettling. It hits on a feeling called kenopsia, the eerie, hollow atmosphere of a place that is usually packed with people but is now completely abandoned. Your brain looks at a carousel and instinctively loads the sound of music and crowds. When you get this instead (static chains and suffocating fog) it creates a cognitive glitch. It feels "wrong."
